David has worked in the financial markets since leaving college. Initially involved in the debt and equity markets he then spent a considerable time in the evolving derivatives markets. David rose through various roles including working with fund management and externally in various industry committees to senior management where as a Director with key responsibility for operations he oversaw much change and development in the processes, procedures and risk management profiles of the firms he was associated with.

This wealth of experience has enabled David to author some twelve titles on subjects including areas such as operations management, derivatives, clearing, settlement and custody, fund administration and operational risk.

He has frequently been asked to speak at major conferences across the world.

David is a highly regarded and sought after trainer who works internally with a wide range of major organisations in the UK and Internationally, as well as leading public training programs for major training companies.

He also provides consultancy services on a wide range of topics.

Married with a wife, daughter and three grown up grandchildren, David enjoys, when time permits, boating on canals and rivers, cooking and politics. He also lists football, cricket and gardening amongst his favourite pastimes.

David is a member of The Worshipful Company of International Bankers, The Institute of Directors and The Securities and Investment Institute.

James Henry is a qualified accountant with over twenty years experience in the international financial, energy and commodity derivatives markets. His responsibilities have included Finance, Compliance, Operations, Customer Services, Sales & Marketing roles, working in both London and Sydney. He has held senior positions at LIFFE, the London Clearing House Ltd and Cargill Investor Services.

James has in depth knowledge and experience of both exchange traded and OTC financial, energy, commodity, credit and property derivative products and the associated data capture, clearing, margining, collateral, settlement, internal control, credit and operational risk management issues.

James has many years experience of designing and delivering courses to people working in the banking, fund management, energy and commodity market sectors, both in the UK and overseas, in particular with regard to derivative products, derivatives clearing and settlement operations, hedge funds, fund administration, operations management and operational risk management.

James’s training style is both practical and interactive. He combines informative presentation with practical exercises and workshop discussions, encouraging delegates to ask questions and participate fully in the seminars. James is enthusiastic about his subjects and responsive to attendee participation.

In addition to his training role at DSC Portfolio, James is also the finance director of an independent oil exploration company. James enjoys golf and tennis and is a keen sports fan. He lives in SE England and is married with three children.
